Dan McMillan
Lead & Rhythm Guitar, Acoustic & Electric - Vocals
Dan McMillan, yet another product of the social meat grinder that is Cleveland, Ohio, is the band's premier guitarist and vocalist. The only band member with a degree in music, a fact he never let's us forget, Dan's talents show up in our classy arrangements and harmonies, lending a professional touch, not to mention adult supervision, to the group. When not annoyed by the bass player, Dan manages to contribute original compositions and handle the mixing board. Though Dan's youth was misspent in the world of rock'n'roll, he hangs on to enough undamaged brain cells to dazzle our great unwashed masses of fans with hot leads and solid rhythm on both acoustic and electric guitar. Dan's greatest achievement in life is being married to the World's Most Tolerant Woman. It should be duly noted that the world's Second and Third Most Tolerant Women are married to the band's bass and banjo players. Actually, the women compete quite a bit regarding who is in first place and at any given moment, they all qualify.

Dave Kennard
Banjo - Rhythm Guitar - Harmonica - Recorder - Vocals
Dave "Never Say Die" Kennard is the chameleon of the band. Banjo is his main instrument with which he drives the band's sound. Dave also adds vocal harmonies, recorder, harmonica, latin rhythm instruments, car parts, animal noises, and other equally disgusting and/or diverse distractions to to the band's otherwise beautiful and well arranged music. Being an alien from somewhere beyond the Crab Nebula, Dave is certainly not from Cleveland, let alone earth. Band members think he hears voices during practice - without a cell phone. Some of his friends live in the wide open spaces and deep mysterious forests. Who knows what they tell him? Brand New Hat performs some of Dave's original songs as well as covers he has brought to the band. With roots deep in American folk and bluegrass music, his interests extend into international folk music and the world of jazz. Your guess is as good as ours on what he'll show up with next!

John Hansen
Bass Guitar - Vocals
John "Older Than Dirt" Hansen, a Cleveland native who was around long before the white man fled to the suburbs, is the bass player of the band. The only band member who is retired from his "day job", John is clearly a romantic and vagabond at heart. John is spending his retirement furiously writing songs which he hopes to sell to supplement his social security check. We hear he may be investing in a micro-brewery, or at least indulging in their products, in hopes of deriving life extension or at least one more good honky-tonk song. John has produced two solo CD's over the last couple years, demonstrating that mastery of many instruments is vastly over-rated and that a little talent goes a long way. When the band really doesn't want to be invited back, we allow John to sing one of his original compositions. One of John's greatest pleasures in life is annoying Dan.
